Living and Working as a Tattoo Artist in Paris – Inspired by Art History

CHATEAU DE VERSAILLES TATTOO

Adelita was traveling from Colorado , here’s what she said on her Google review : “Walking past the studio, Walter invited us inside. I had not intended to get tattooed on this trip, but what followed was nothing shy of magnificent. We chatted and came up with a concept related to our Versailles excursions. Walter added his artistic touch and I came away with a piece that is completely different from the traditional style of my other skin art”

As a tattoo artist in Paris, I feel incredibly lucky to live and work in such a beautiful, culturally rich city. Paris isn’t just a place to visit—it’s a city that has shaped generations of artists, thinkers, and creatives. For me, being here is a reminder of how much art and history influence everything I do.

Before becoming a tattoo artist, I studied art history at the École du Louvre, one of the world’s most respected art schools. My time there gave me a deeper understanding of how art has evolved over time, and that knowledge is something I carry with me in everything I create. Paris, with its rich art history and timeless beauty, continues to inspire me every single day.

Grateful to Be in a City Full of Art and History

Paris has always been a place where artists from around the world have come to find inspiration. From the iconic Louvre Museum to the small galleries tucked away in hidden corners, art is everywhere. Living here reminds me every day of the incredible wealth of history and creativity that surrounds us.

I’m constantly humbled to be part of a city that has contributed so much to the world’s cultural landscape. The history of art I studied and the artwork I’ve been fortunate enough to see here shape my approach to tattooing. But it’s not just about what I create—it’s about how this city shapes my perspective as an artist.

Art History Meets Tattooing

Studying art history gave me a unique perspective on design, style, and meaning. When I became a tattoo artist, I wanted to bring that knowledge into my work. Each tattoo I create is more than just an image—it’s an opportunity to think about how art evolves, how it tells a story, and how it connects us to something bigger than ourselves.

The influence of Paris isn’t about directly replicating historical art in my tattoos. Instead, it’s about feeling humbled by the legacy of artists before me, and applying that knowledge in a way that makes each tattoo personal and meaningful.

Why This City Makes a Difference in My Work

Living in Paris has taught me to appreciate art in all its forms. I don’t just see tattoos as designs—they’re pieces of a bigger story. As I meet new clients, I’m always reminded of how meaningful each tattoo can be. The fact that I get to create those meaningful pieces here, in a city with such a rich art history, makes the experience even more special.

If you’re traveling to Paris and want a tattoo that tells your story through a lens of art history and personal meaning, I’d love to work with you. Let’s create something together that’s inspired by your journey and the beauty of this city.
